Tightwad Computer Wishes You A Great Summer 2026!

Here we are. Summer of 2026. What can we expect? Still higher prices on memory and storage? Greater advances and applications in AI?

We at Tightwad Computer look forward to offering you some fast newer laptops and maybe a desktop (or two?). How can we help you?

Currently we are fighting to keep prices low but increasing prices on memory and NVME drives are hurting us and the industry as a whole. More on this later.

We are available to provide tech support for devices and networks.

USPS Pandemic Style

Prior to Christmas 2020 USPS issued warnings about possible seasonal shipping delays. Now, this happens every Holiday Season. It is now February 27, 2021 so can we safely say the holiday season is behind us? Yet USPS still warns of shipping delays and bears no responsibility for late deliveries.

Parts we ordered 3-4 weeks ago have yet to arrive. And no tracking updates to let us have an idea of when/if packages will arrive. We have to visit a postal facility to be able to take a deeper dive into locating our packages. Some of them are in a container that is on a jet that was sitting, grounded and unable to fly because of the recent winter storms that blanketed 70+ percent of the United States. BTW, USPS contracts with FedEx, who grounded its’ planes from flying until February 25.

Assuming that most of our customers do not know what happens within the shipping industry from day to day, they only know us as the entity that is not delivering the products they ordered in good faith, to be delivered on time.

What can we tell them?

Now that Thanksgiving 2020 is here

We at Tightwad Computer wish everyone a happy holiday season 2020.  Hopefully the first vaccines will be approved on December 10 by the FDA. Markets for IT remain strong as many areas still are in some form of lockdown. We continue to experience a strong demand for laptops that work well regardless of the laptop’s model generations. So we will continue to provide some well built custom and refurbished laptops for business and personal use.

What have we been up to recently?

Since March 2020 we have seen an uptick in business. At first, Tightwad Computer experienced some quiet days. Was business going to stop as the economy was quickly shut down? For a couple of weeks we expected the worst. Then sales slowly started and took off over a few more weeks as people in quarantine were apparently looking for new outlets for home based businesses and entertainment.

Very exciting to see “work-at-home” become a more normal way to work.

We can find you the right laptop for your business and personal needs at our eBay Store.

Currently Lenovo T530 and T540p FHD laptops are top sellers.

Tightwad Computer Returns

Tightwad Computer started as an internet computer sales company in the late 1990s, within a few years also opening a “brick and mortar” sales outlet in 2001. The owner has many years of experience in Information Technology with System Administration, Technical Support for Software Products used by many Fortune 500 companies, and S/W Marketing. In the 1990s we saw a need by consumers desiring more than cookie cutter desktop computers. We configured and sold custom desktops, later moving into laptop sales of refurbished and used units. While we specialize in Lenovo ThinkPad laptops we also refurbish and sell select Apple, HP, Acer, Toshiba, and other brands. Can’t find exactly what you need? Ask us to build or locate exactly what you’re looking for. Wary of buying online? You can always return an item to us for warranty purposes no questions asked. We provide support after the sale so you can use and enjoy anything you buy from us. Thanks for looking!
